Finesse over Power

Tips & Tricks

Pickleball is not a power game like tennis—it's much more about finesse and strategy. Think of it like a chess game, where your job is to move the pieces (opponents) around the court, forcing awkward returns and mistakes, and creating opportunities for a put-away. Tennis is focused on the winning shot, whereas pickleball is focused on “creating” the winning shot. Strategy and finesses are far more fundamental to pickleball; power is primarily used to put away the pop-up or stun the opponent in a surprise attack.
